Plane travel destination is Val-d'Or, in Abitibi, Québec and delegates will be bused to Amos.

Amos is a 20th century town, 70 km north of Val-d'Or, in Northern Québec, on the Harricana River ; it is 150 km north east of Kirkland Lake in Ontario and 470 km north of Ottawa. Capital of Abitibi, Amos is the administrative and religious centre of the lumber region. It features, among its commercial industries, an important water bottling plant.

So the theme for the 2002 Seminar is water.

THROUGHOUT history, the spoken word has evoked emotion, inflamed the spirit, inspired faith and fired the imagination.
This fascination with the power of words is perhaps our best legacy to have survived the centuries. Now, it is our turn to pass on our respect and appreciation for the power of language to those who follow.
Debating prepares students to make informed decisions by demanding they be both active and accountable. Student debaters learn to assess the status quo, search for solutions and then re-examine these prospective solutions for flaws in reason or practicality.
Debate does for the mind what exercise does for the body! Such sparking of minds can only kindle a healthy glow of self-esteem and encourage the settling of conflicts through communication and discussion, rather than the heat of anger.
